1,000 LAND SALES AT THE PONDS

The fastest growing suburb in New South Wales has reached a significant milestone – 1,000 land reservations have been secured at The Ponds worth over $300 million.

Land was first released in the suburb less than three years ago with purchasers from the local area, broader Sydney community and interstate securing land.

“The Ponds land sales momentum continues to lead the residential housing market across Sydney. The masterplanned community has captured the attention of a broad range of buyers from young families and first home buyers to retirees and investors. Second and third home buyers now represent over 75 per cent of land sales, first home buyers are still in the market securing over 15 per cent and a steady stream of investors are moving into the new suburb capturing 5 per cent,” said  Tony Pizzolato, Australand’s NSW General Manager for Residential.

“In the past 18 months the land sales figures achieved have surpassed expectations, setting a new sales benchmark for masterplanned communities and accelerating the development 9 – 12 months ahead of schedule.”

“Despite rising interest rates, strong land sales have continued with The Ponds becoming a place of choice for savvy home buyers. Over 800 residents now call the suburb home,” added Mr Pizzolato.

“The Ponds has many appealing attributes to offer home buyers. Infrastructure is already in place including John Palmer Public School, playgrounds, picnic areas, kilometres of bikeway and walking paths and an 80 hectare nature reserve. Rouse Hill Town Centre, Norwest Business Park and major transport links including the M2 and M7 are also situated within a five kilometre radius from the suburb.”

Landcom recently started on The Ponds $7 million eastern playing fields project which is primed to become the flagship sports facility in the North West.

The project will comprise two playing fields, four tennis courts, four netball courts and playgrounds. Additional features include two ponds, training standard lighting, extensive landscaping and a car park accommodating 165 cars.

The Ponds is a 320 hectare master-planned community which is being developed by Landcom and Australand. It will comprise over 3,000 homes when complete.
