A Big Win For The Environment - New Green Residential Development Release - Sells Out In Three Weeks
In a big win for the environment, 30 land lots at The Ponds in Sydney’s north west, a development partnership between Landcom & Australand, have sold out in just three weeks.
The Ponds offers a unique water and woodland environment centred around a magnificent 80ha nature corridor with over 1,000,000 new trees and plants in the planting process.
According to George Rounis, Australand’s Project Director for The Ponds, the first release of land lots known as Waterlily were snapped up by eager homesite buyers who quickly recognised the outstanding green credentials of The Ponds.
“The Ponds is the landmark for new residential development setting standards rarely seen in developing areas.
“The pricing for the Waterlily land, ranged from $250,000 to $305,000 with sizes from 463m2 to 633m2. Homesite buyers welcomed the opportunity to be part of this new standard in environmental sustainability where they could build their ideal home in an idyllic location,” said Mr Rounis.
“This is one of the most successful launches of a new residential development I have seen and will bring forward the release of The Lotus release to mid May, which will offer 32 dress circle lots. Mr Rounis added.
All blocks at The Ponds are near level to provide easy access during construction, and feature access to recycled water.
The developments masterplan has implemented salinity control which includes the preparation of an earthworks and drainage management strategy to maintain and improve current salinity baseline levels. The planting of over 500,000 native plants will lower the water table reducing the occurrence of salt scalds.
Every home at The Ponds will comply with BASIX energy requirements with private living spaces and public/private spaces exceeding minimum requirements for solar access at the winter solstice. There will be maximum insulation to each home and energy efficient light fittings including public spaces and buildings. In addition the use of solar hot water and solar energy will be promoted in keeping with Landcom’s association in the Blacktown Solar Cities Programme.
Design guidelines ensure streetscapes offer diversity while the neighbourhood maintains an attractive design harmony.
Residents at The Ponds will enjoy nature’s diversity and a neighbourhood based community like no other in north western Sydney. It will include schools, childcare facilities, playgrounds, sporting fields, parks and a retail precinct. The majority of streets either begin or end in a green space which means you are never far away from nature.
Residents of The Ponds will benefit from the nearby Rouse Hill Regional Centre which will become one of the largest shopping complexes in the Southern Hemisphere offering a wide range of retail, entertainment and community facilities, as well as access to convenient transport services including the new T-Way.
