FAMILIES UNITE

House buying patterns emerging at The Ponds show family members are re-uniting and purchasing homes in close proximity to each other.

Mums and dads, their children, grandchildren and even grandparents are all lining up to live in new friendly neighbourhoods close to their families.

Louie and Marie Pignone from Belfield knew The Ponds area well after their son moved close by. After months of land searching together with their daughter Joanne, who also wanted to live near the family, they settled on a couple of land lots at The Ponds, a three minute walk apart.

“We loved the area, wanted a new house, liked the house designs from a local builder and picked a land lot close to our children. The decision was easy,” said Louie.

“There are plenty of play areas for the grandchildren when they visit, we are close to our children for babysitting duties which we enjoy, Stanhope Village is a couple of minutes drive from the house, the local gym and pool are close by and there are plenty of walking tracks on our door step which Scruffy the family maltese cross enjoys.”

“Whilst out enjoying our recreational activities we have already met many residents and have never lived in a friendlier suburb. We are surrounded by a beautiful bushland corridor and enjoy the peace and quiet associated with it, yet still have the conveniences of the city close to hand,” he added.

Nigel Edgar from Australand comments, “The company has witnessed many stories like Louie and Marie’s where family members are land shopping together to build their dream home close to each other. In several instances three or four family members have bought multiple land lots in The Ponds.”

“With an ageing population and in many instances a two person income household, the ability to rely more heavily on family members is much greater than ever before.”

“The Ponds is a suburb that has it all - the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, an 80 hectare nature corridor with kilometers of bike and cycle paths is widely used for a variety of recreational activities including walking, running, rollerblading and cycling and every weekend the children’s playgrounds, BBQ and picnic areas are over flowing with families using the facilities,” Nigel added.

Rouse Hill Town Centre, Stanhope Village, Norwest Business Park and major transport links including the M2 and M7 are also situated within a five kilometre radius from the suburb. Two regular bus services operated by City Buses and Bullet Buses travel directly to Blacktown, Castle Hill, Parramatta and the City from The Ponds.

The Ponds is a 320 hectare master-planned community which is being developed by Landcom and Australand. It will comprise over 3,000 homes when complete.
