A new property trend is emerging in The Ponds, friend clusters or groups of friends have been land hunting and purchasing as a group to ensure they can live close to each other.
One such group was Jaison Davis and his partner Ushus Antony along with three sets of friends – Alex Chariyekkara and Rosy Vadakkedath, Mathew Joseph and Bini Earanattu Paulose and Pramod Meethal and Bindu Cholayil.
“We all migrated to Australia from India at different times in 2000 and 2001 and purchased homes in the Glendenning community. Over the past few years we have established a very strong friendship group and wanted to maintain a close relationship between the families, but in a different living environment,” said Jaison.
“As a group we decided to go land hunting together and explored many different communities in the North West region. After several months of searching we found The Ponds and were instantly sold. The seed was planted for our next abodes after the first visit.”
“It is a new suburb with a very friendly community and up market feel about the area, it looks cozy with all of the trees and open spaces, there is a new school in the area for the children and it is close to the Hills district where we all work,” he added.
“We have all finalised our land purchases at The Ponds and the same builder and architect have been chosen to construct all four houses.”
“Australand has witnessed that a strong community foundation is now starting to play a significant role in where people are choosing to live as a direct result of the increase in the number of single parent families and one person dwellings. The thought of also moving to a new suburb to be close to friends is also gaining traction in the popularity stakes,” said Tony Pizzolato, Australand’s NSW General Manager for Residential.
“The Ponds is fast gaining a reputation as one of the friendliest neighbourhoods in the area and the company is noticing that many friend clusters are establishing themselves in the suburb.”
“More than 400 homes are now occupied in the suburb with over 1200 residents enjoying the many facilities and infrastructure already in place including an 80 hectare nature reserve, picnic and BBQ areas, playgrounds, kilometres of bikeway and walking paths and John Palmer Public School,” he continued.
The Ponds is a 320 hectare master-planned community which is being developed by Landcom and Australand. It will comprise over 3,000 homes when complete.
