Landcom has sold a 12.7 hectare parcel of land in the North West’s newest suburb, The Ponds to Anglican Retirement Villages (ARV), one of the largest providers of retirement living services in NSW.
ARV plans to create a new seniors living community over several stages which will comprise 200 independent living units with associated community facilities and a 100 plus bed aged care facility on the site, which fronts on to Stanhope Parkway and is a few minutes walk from Stanhope Shopping Village.
Ken Barber, ARV’s CEO said, “research identified the North West sector and the Blacktown local
government area, as an area of high need for the company’s services. ARV is pleased to have secured The Ponds site in a growing residential area close to shopping and leisure facilities.”
The new development will provide for both low and high care needs, enabling retirees who have lived in the region all of their lives to stay in the area.
“This land sale brings a different part of the market to The Ponds,” said Kerry Robinson, Landcom’s General Manager Development.
“The new aged care and seniors living facility will play a vital role in servicing the North West’s ageing population and is strategically positioned to capitalize on its proximity to public transport routes and other community facilities that are planned for the new suburb.”
Childcare facilities, water bodies, cycle paths, walking tracks, sports facilities and a retail precinct will also feature in the new community.
The Ponds is being developed by Landcom and Australand and when complete will comprise over 3000 homes. It is a growing 390 hectare master-planned community located beside Kellyville Ridge.
